What Does It Mean to Entrust Himself?

John 2:23-25

23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name. 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men. 25 He did not need man's testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man.

I wonder what Jesus would have entrusted to these people. Would he have entrusted his image, his life, his worth of who he was. What is Jesus asked to entrust here that he will not give away?

I love finding bits of confusing or vague scripture. It's like a puzzle or riddle and it just gets me thinking about things in different ways! Fantastic!!!

Anyhow - it's been a while! How are you and your family doing? We miss you guys a lot.

It looks to me like Jesus is being very careful about letting people know who he is (The Messiah). Up until this point in John, he has been very closed-mouthed about it, and he continues to keep it on the down-low. I'd guess that he won't trust them with the knowledge of who he is because he knows that they are ready and waiting to stage a revolt against Rome (which had happened during several festivals in Jerusalem in the years immediately preceeding this).

I'm glad I found your blog. I evidently lost the original link that I made to it and have been missing out on it because of that.
