Women Angels

This sounds like Women Angels to me. What do you think? If there are no women angels in the Bible than who are these women? What am I missing?

Zech 5:5-11
5 Then the angel who was speaking to me came forward and said to me, "Look up and see what this is that is appearing."
6 I asked, "What is it?"
He replied, "It is a measuring basket." And he added, "This is the iniquity of the people throughout the land."
7 Then the cover of lead was raised, and there in the basket sat a woman! 8 He said, "This is wickedness," and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed the lead cover down over its mouth.
9 Then I looked up — and there before me were two women, with the wind in their wings! They had wings like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth.

10 "Where are they taking the basket?" I asked
the angel who was speaking to me.
11 He replied, "To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it. When it is ready, the basket will be set there in its place."

Who said there were no women angels?

Lots of people have said that there are no women angels in the bible. To be honest I was hard pressed to find these gems!

It just has come up in conversation lately. Are these not women angels?

Are angels really "men" or "women"? Does it matter?

Bob,
Good point! Angels were created to be angels, Humans were created to be Humans and God is just God. But God is referred to as male and humans were created both male and female. Are angels male and female?

On a side note Bob you are right yet again. I will not care in heaven if I was right or wrong about angels being male or female. I will just be glad to have a spot on the floor.

I think that people might get the impression from Matt 12:25 that Angles, since they are not subject to marriage, are genderless or only of one gender. That seems to be stretching it, but I think that is why I thought so when I was younger.

Of course, there are evidently many different types of angels, some of which are usually not anything like humans in appearance (like Cherubim, the winged, animal-faced Cherubim in Revelation and in Ezekiel). So, maybe there are some that look like men and women and have gender- specific characteristics, and maybe there are others that do not.

BTW - most of the traditions about angels and demons, referred to but not expounded in scripture were not Jewish (or Christian) in origin, but were from other nations: the Cherubim were Babylonian, and demons were Persian (Zoroastrian), so, did God send angles to them, which they recognized and recorded information about, or did God send angles that were made to look like what people expected?

there were no such beings as women angels.if you look in the bible their were no stories of women angels conversing with men. about god being male both men and women are males. hence the word female(feminine male) woman (out of the womb of a man) hence the word woman. angels were created and it says in the word that when the angels came down to earth they saw that the women were beautiful and mated with them creating giants. there are women saints but not women angels. Sorry ladies. so the guys the next time you call a woman an angel you are actually insulting her. God bless
