So this is me at Walmart changing out a bad starter. The blue tarp was protecting me somewhat from the standing water. I had just finished Christmas shopping late the night before when the starter stopped working. Of course I tried every trick in the book to get it going from trying to start it over and over again, to pulling my serpentine belt to change the engine position.
Nothing I tried seemed to work so I called Priscilla who ended up having to pick me up and drop me off the next morning at the Walmart in Lynwood. Since I had just replaced the starter not but a month ago I knew how to do it and it only took me about 20min to 1/2 hour.
In the end it all started up, I think mostly due to my wife and 4 year old son saying a prayer for daddy before he started (no pun intended).
On a side note: At one point I asked Pris to hand me the starter and after placing it in my left hand I realized I could not fit it between the underside of the truck and the soft part of my belly. So I asked her to put in my other hand holding it out for her when to my surprise a starbucks coffee magically appeared in my right hand. Although I was grateful, I told her that I really needed the starter in my other hand but thanks for thinking of me.
We also ended up returning over half the gifts I bought that day. There is a lesson about Christmas and car maintenance somewhere in here.
